The ocean, and the life within it, are key to maintaining a healthy climate. It is home to millions of species and the engine behind all life on earth. The ocean faces severe disruption from human action, from altered temperature, circulation and overfishing, to acidification and plastic pollution.
If we are to challenge the negative impact we are having on our planet, we need to look to carbon zero, and carbon negative initiatives, whilst ensuring a rapid transformation to clean energy.
Conservation Technology - raising awareness on a changing climate and operating the very latest in clean marine power.
As Ocean Advocates we are campaigning for a cleaner and more sustainable planet. As we sail using next generation technologies, we are gathering data on the impact we have on the marine world in the waters surrounding the southwest and within the UNESCO North Devon Biosphere Reserve.
Microplastic trawling, benthic sampling and with our underwater Remote Operated Vehicle, we are raising awareness, encouraging thinking about our impact on the ocean throughout daily life, so we can make conscious choices with the ocean in mind. If more people Think Ocean, we can kick-start a wave of action that will protect our planet’s future.

Sail Electric is our net zero maritime campaign. We lead by example, providing real-world insight so owners and operators can take that critical first step towards going green on the blue. We increase Ocean literacy as we sail, and by inspiring a collaborative effort between authorities, academia, industry and operators, we will drive positive change.
For over a decade the crew have lead Research and Development in clean energy and sustainable development, deploying remote energy systems to reach carbon zero ambitions to clients around the world. We now look to Hydrogen as the future of energy storage, and our engineering division is converting vessels of all shapes and sizes to electric.

Based a few miles from Ilfracombe, we are proud to have partnered with the North Devon UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. From the highlands of Dartmoor and Exmoor, down the river valleys to the sea and beyond Lundy, the North Devon Biosphere is one of 668 Reserves in 122 countries designated by UNESCO's Man and the Biosphere Programme and was the first of 6 to be designated in the UK.
The Biosphere is a demonstrator, an example of what our world can look like in the future and the focal area for our research and development for our 2030 carbon negative and marine science campaign.
The designation secures a better future by linking people and nature together.
