A lifetime of concern, a love for the sea, and driven to help preserve our natural world.
Testing new engineering concepts, raising awareness as we go.
My name is Wayne Peters, I am a yachtsman, marine engineer and environmentalist. With my partner Anne-Flore and a leading engineering team we have been developing clean energy systems on land and at sea for over a decade. We live completely off grid on the foothills of Exmoor National Park in North Devon and we distribute the latest clean energy methods and technologies to customers around the world.
A profound experience with the remarkable Emily Penn when I was asked to help prepare her yacht for eXXpedition, the world circumnavigation to study ocean plastic, and following the conversion of my own sailboats to run on electric, it was clear that more needed to be done to promote advancing technology and forward thinking to specifically address marine conservation.
So in early 2020 a project emerged that would focus on these issues locally here in the Biosphere, to combine a love for sailing with lived experience. and to find out what is actually needed for us all to be truly sustainable out on the water.
With a group of like minded friends and colleagues, and partnering with leading organisations and academia, the North Devon Marine project is specifically showcasing emerging solutions for alternatives to fossil fuel at at sea, accelerating the roadmap to net zero.
You can find out more about what we do by following us on social media. Your support means we can keep working to achieve true net zero when at sea.
